Position Title: Environmental, Health, & Safety Director

Plant Location: Bath, PA

About the Role :

Keystone Cement Company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director to be responsible for developing, updating, and implementing comprehensive environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations, minimize risks, and promote a culture of safety across our organization. Develop and implement EHS strategies and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility by interacting with MSHA representatives and all regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and comply with all safety regulations. Be able to identify and correct safety hazards; participate in regular safety training, safety topic meetings and task training. Cooperate with all external inspectors as necessary.
• Implement an effective environmental health and safety (EHS) program, policies, and procedures in alignment with applicable regulations, industry best practices, and company goals. Update due to regulatory changes and effectively communicate these changes to impacted parties.
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to management and employees on EHS matters, fostering a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
• Oversee regular assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues, and develop and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, including waste management, pollution prevention, and hazardous materials handling and safety regulations according to company and government guidelines.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders to stay informed about emerging EHS trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Oversee to ensure incident investigations are completed with root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and analyze EHS metrics and data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and progress towards meeting EHS goals.
• Oversee the company's EHS documentation, records, permits, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into manufacturing processes and ensure compliance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by establishing and monitoring EHS performance indicators and implementing initiatives to drive progress.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or related field.
• Seven years’ experience in environmental health and safety with a minimum of four years in a leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, MSHA, RCRA, MACT and/or Title V facility is desired.
• Effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and delegation abilities.
• Able to successfully interact in a team environment as well as work independently.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products.
• Physically able to inspect plant properties climbing steps, ladders, physical exertion, wearing MSHA personal protective equipment required in dusty, noisy environment in all weather conditions.
• Proper wear and use of respirator, as needed.
