Position Summary:
Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families in Medical Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Departments. Practices to the fullest extent of his/her license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to implement the patient's plan of care. Provides population specific care and meets the developmental needs of the populations served.
Assigned responsibility and accountability for an individual or group of patients during a designated time frame. The float nurse provides specialized care consistent with the policies, procedures, and standards of care and designated competencies. Promotes and maintains quality patient care and assists in teaching nursing staff.
